Delivery Driver II / Yard Personnel

While directly interacting with our customers on delivery or assisting in the yard, , you will porvide exceptional customer service in a polite, friendly and professional way.



Education/Formal Training

  • Minimnum 2 years Commercial Driving Experience
  • Must have valid class 'G' or 'AR' driver’s license
  • Completed High School diploma and minimum 25 years of age
  • Must be familiar with local roads, be able to read a map and navigate without GPS
  • Must be able to load, secure a truck
  • Must be able to load, secure, tow and backup a trailer
  • Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems
  • Must speak English clearly and write legibly. The ability to speak other languages is a plus
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form
  • Forklift experiance an asset

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Must be able to complete and maintain proper Ministry of Transportation Driving Logs and Vehicle Inspection Documentation
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, gas or fumes and inclement weather
  • Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs
  • Must maintain a professional personal appearance
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record
  • Must have a full range of motion and dexterity
  • Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience

Duties

  • Load and unload equipment
  • Secure loaded equipment per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary
  • Deliver and pick up equipment
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records
  • Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed
  • Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups
  • Know specifics and applications of rental inventory, so you can answer questions upon delivery
  • While driving company vehicle: Serve as store representative in a clean and professional manner, carry driver's license and any required additional documentation at ALL times, observe all laws, complete daily safety check on vehicles, keep vehicles clean (interior and exterior), notify manager of any scrapes, dents, accidents or mechanical difficulties
  • Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered
  • Notify dispatcher or store if behind schedule, so customers may be contacted
  • Instruct customers on equipment operation
  • Start equipment for customers
  • If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer’s signature. Turn in these forms to supervisor, along with pick up sheets. Tag and move broken equipment to repair area
  • Deliver pick up ticket copies to Manager so counts can be verified prior to unloading
  • Turn in all funds collected to Manager upon return
  • Never leave keys in vehicles or equipment
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form
  • Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store
  • Washing, light service of equipment and loadin/unloading of customers in the yard
  • Maintain a clean and organized yard
  • Other duties as assigned/required
